POCO has carried out a long marketing campaign to create hype for the POCO X5 series. After much anticipation, the brand finally presented the range with the POCO X5 and POCO X5 Pro. Global customers got both variants while the Indian market only got the Pro unit. Apparently, these two devices will soon be joined by a third member – the POCO X5 GT. Yes, the “Gaming Tier” smartphone is coming soon, and according to the leaked specifications, it could be placed above the Pro variant.
POCO has been launching GT variants since the days of the POCO X3 series. However, they never became more popular than the regular variants due to the choice of material. According to the leaks, the POCO X5 GT can be an exciting smartphone for hardware enthusiasts. The phone was listed on Singapore’s IMDA certification with model number 23049PCD8G. Also, a similar phone with model number 23049PCD8I was spotted on India’s BIS certification. Interestingly, the model number basically confirms the variants. The “G” on the Singapore regulator is for the global variant, while the “I” on the one that went through the BRI is for the Indian market.

According to some reports, Xiaomi’s POCO X5 GT has gone through the IMEI database. According to leaks, the phone could become a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo. Honestly, POCO doesn’t do anything but rename Xiaomi or Redmi phones, so that wouldn’t be a big surprise. In this case, the phone may become a renamed Redmi Note 12 Turbo.
According to leaks, the POCO X5 GT will bring a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. Under the hood, the phone has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 and a 50 MP main camera.
