OOPS: Nintendo will miss E3 2023

Nintendo is officially pulling out of this year’s E3. In a statement to various online blogging sites, Nintendo is quitting participation in E3 2023 as it is no longer in their plans. In a statement to Engadget, the company said, “We approach our participation in each event on a case-by-case basis and are always considering different ways to engage with our fans.”

Nintendo went on to say, “As this year’s E3 show did not match our plans, we have decided not to attend. However, we have been and will continue to be a strong supporter of ESA [Entertainment Software Association] and E3”.

The company usually takes an active part in E3, airing the Treehouse broadcast with a live presence throughout the event. It should be noted that the last time Nintendo attended E3 was in 2019, and all digital affairs in 2021. Also, there was no E3 in 2020 or 2022.

Microsoft and Sony may also miss E3 this year

It’s already been reported that some big brands, including Microsoft and Sony, aren’t interested in this year’s E3 and won’t be attending. However, Microsoft has yet to make an official statement about its plans. On the other hand, Sony has not participated in E3 since 2018.

Instead, Microsoft is looking to hold its annual showcase in Los Angeles later this summer. We have some information on the big annual showcase, and it comes from Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer. Microsoft’s big annual showcase will take place June 13-16.

The contradiction between Microsoft’s annual showcase and E3 makes things difficult for the Galaxy manufacturer. In another case, the Nintendo Direct will take place in mid-June. However, there are rumors of a major showcase before E3. That’s why the company decided to stay away from this year’s E3.

Nintendo is one of the most famous console manufacturers around. The Summer Game Fest adds fuel to the fire. The most important thing is that Ubisoft will be present at E3.
