1. New 5G trends – 5.5G is a major trend
One of the main highlights of MWC 2023 will be 5.5G. This new 5G trend is a major aspect of attention, especially for Chinese brands. Yang Guang, senior chief analyst at Omdia, said 5G-Advanced is an intermediate step in the evolution to 6G. During MWC23, the GSMA will host a 5G-A Summit, inviting carriers such as China Mobile, Orange and Zain. It will also invite equipment vendors such as Huawei and Ericsson. Qualcomm has just launched the industry’s first 5G-Advanced ready Snapdragon X75 radio frequency modem and system. It can support 10-carrier aggregation and achieve ultimate 10Gbps user experience. Devices with this chip will come to the public in the second half of this year.

Ericsson recently launched a portfolio of enhanced Radio Access Network (RAN) and Transmission (Transport) products.
