A new Redmi K-Series device coming to India could be the K50i 5G

 

Redmi may soon launch a new K-series smartphone in India. Thus, the popular K-series could make a highly anticipated return to the country. To recap, the Redmi K20 Pro was launched in India in 2019. The brand celebrated its 3rd anniversary by showing a movie to device owners across India. Now some Redmi fans claim to have seen an image that read “K is back”. Unfortunately, key details in the image were scarce.

Redmi Note 11T Pro India launched as Redmi K50i

Redmi put an end to all speculation by posting the same graphics on its social media handles. The post has the hashtag #RedmiKisback. So it’s safe to assume that Redmi is gearing up to bring the K-series back to India after a long hiatus. Notably, encrypted social media posts do not confirm the device’s nickname. However, a report from MySmartPrice suggests that it will launch as Redmi K50i 5G in India. Now, the K50i 5G has been floating around in the rumor mill for quite some time.

Redmi K50i 5G India launched around the corner

Past leaks suggest that the launch of the Redmi K50i 5G smartphone in India is just around the corner. Additionally, some of the main specs of the handset have recently surfaced online. If the rumors circulating online turn out to be true, the Redmi K50i 5G India launch will take place this month. Also, the handset might turn out to be a rebranded Redmi Note 11T Pro 5G. The same device was launched worldwide as the Poco X4 GT with the same specs. The K50i 5G has already obtained BIS certification. This is a sign that the handset is heading to India.

The Redmi K50i will feature a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution. Additionally, it could support a high refresh rate of 144Hz and Dolby Vision content. Under the hood, it will likely pack a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC. Additionally, the chipset will pair with up to 8GB of RAM. The 5G-enabled phone could come with 128GB of built-in storage capacity. The K50i will use a 5080mAh battery to draw its juices. Also, this cell is likely to support 67W fast charging. For optics, the handset could come with three rear-mounted cameras.

The K50i 5G could have a 64MP main sensor on the back. Additionally, it could feature an 8MP wide-angle lens. Finally, the phone will have a 2MP macro sensor on the back. On the front, the Redmi K50i houses a 16MP shooter for selfies and video calls. Moreover, the handset runs on Android 12 operating system with MIUI 13 on top. Additionally, it carries an IP53 rating and has a 3.5mm headphone jack. Finally, it has VC liquid cooling and Bluetooth 5.3.
